Hello! I have opportunity to buy a brand new CF-19. It's a special order. According to the seller it will have 3 years warranty and support from Panasonic. I can't configure it on the Panasonic site. I would like to know what it is.

Hi! ToughWiki site did not help. Official Panasonic site will not recognise it.
    CF-19LBSDXGM. It's CF-19 MK3 with 8GB RAM. Thanks.

I believe you misunderstood. If the panny site won't tell you what it is, then you can go to toughwiki and manually decipher the model#/features.

    S unspecified (hdd size)(custom?)
    D smartcard (reader?) equiped

It would appear that yours is a "custom" unit, and the configurator doesn't like "custom".
So, you should ask the seller if these details are correct, and, what type of kb, if it is digitizer or touch screen, size of the hdd?

Just being curious, but how can it be new when it's a MK3? It's at least 2 years old?
I would be careful when buying this one, AFAIK Panasonic doesn't do single customs, so it would be a series of at least several dozen for a specific company. If it has a special/different screen/digitizer getting the right drivers might be a pain.
    The 8Gb is nice!
    Do you know what OS?

Hey, saw the 8GB max RAM. The only systems that can do that are Win XP 64 BIT and Win 7 64 BIT. Odd that is has this config if it's a MK IV CF 18, unless it had WIN XP 64 BIT. Research further before you buy......

Is it possible to install 8GB of RAM into CF-19K? I've found 2x4GB SODIMM DDR-2 for USD 100. 4GB (2x2) is MK3's maximum in theory, but it's chipset supports 8GB :)

    The CF-19 Mk3 uses DDR2 memory; so it's limited to 4GB total:

Crucial® Memory Advisor for the Panasonic Toughbook 19 (DDR2) Laptop/Notebook

Your Toughbook 19 (DDR2) System Specs
System specs as shipped by the manufacturer.

    Memory: DDR2 PC2-5300
    Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
    Maximum Memory: 4GB
    Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found here.

Memory or DRAM is the 'working' memory of the computer. It's used to store data for programs (sequences of instructions) on a temporary basis.

Maybe this answer was written long time ago, when there were no 4GB DDR2 modules :)
    Will try and inform :)

    Hi,
I bought me, this is a mk3. The RAM is 4 GB.
Also it does not contain the WiFi module, but it is only prepared, and I would need this and even a GPS module. Can someone give me directions on how to put these? and what to buy?

sorry for my bad English and thanks

    Hi Geofisica,
    welcome to the forum!

this site to have the equipment and manual for a GPS, I have never done business with them, but others on this forum will know them most likely.
Installing a Wifi isn't something I've seen before here, but perhaps others can tell you what & how to install.

Someone better tell that to my 19MK2 then. DDR2 doesn't limit it, its the chipset that limits it. I believe the i945 chipset has a 4GB limit, but the i965 chipset (19MK2) has an 8GB limit.

Mine came with 4GB stock, and I pulled the accessible 2GB stick and put in a 4GB stick for 6GB total. I've got Win7 x64 on it.

The BIOS only shows 3.3GB RAM (which it did with the stock 4GB too). But once booted win7 x64 shows the full 6GB.

With the price of RAM these days, it would be rude not to put in 8GB. Its just the x64 drivers that can be a worry, I've not looked into that side of things too much, since everything I needed worked out of the box including touchscreen and gestures.

My 2x4GB is finally here :)
    Elpida 4GB 2Rx8 PC2-6400S-666
I've already installed one of them, so now I have 2GB + 4GB and it works fine under 64-bit OS.
Will upgrade internal 2GB to second 4GB module soon, but it seems, while 4GB is not enough, 6GB is.enough.
