I am wondering how feasible is it to use a PDRC as a tablet with an external battery + a laptop powering it. Is the touch screen any good? How about the viewing angle?

    Thanks.

It works great as a external monitor. It can be used with any brand laptop or desktop. The touchscreen will only work as long as computer has serial port and external monitor port. The Pany utility must be loaded on the computer for the touchscreen to work on the CF0VDL02. I am currently using my CF-VDL02 on the Dull server and it works great. I have had mixed results so far trying to power the CF-VDL02 from a 12V DC source but works great on on AC power. I am sure it will work from 12V source that was what it was designed for.

    I got a thinkpad power adaptor, 16V x 4.55A. Would that work?

thanks. Some more questions, does the driver works in windows 7? Would the on screen keyboard work? Would handwriting recognition work? Also how heavy these things are?

Can't answer the windows 7 thing. I was able to get CF29 mark 1 using the CFVDL02 to work well with the pany handwriting software and the on screen keyboard worked well with stylus. I would guess the weight of the CF-VDL02 about half the weight or less of a CF29.
