I want to set this up for my CF 29. I know I need the Media bay connector and software. See ad in BST forum. Anyone have a crude drawing and or photo of the test leads so I can make a set? Help obtaining the test software?

    Thanks

What model are you running? Sorry didn't read the other post.

EDIT: Ohlip had the testers a while back.

I have a CF 29E Also known as MK 2. I have the VIP unit coming. I am in need of the software and the connector. The connector is in the media bay. I think it is on most SBC units. A schematic / drawing or photo of the leads would be helpful to me also. I need to make the lead set.

This photo is from a previous post by Ohlip.

You state "VIP Sidekick", but its this what you actually seek?

There are two Tempo VIP units to fit the Media Bay: the Sidekick tester module and the ADSL tester module. Which are you getting? The software is different for each, as are the test leads.

That plugs into cn24 on a CF 28. If you have a service manual, it's in there.

    Good luck.

That's the POTS "analog" line tester.
The tester lead is three wire: Red, Black and Ground, with what appears to be a proprietary four-pin round connector.

You can see what the lead wires themselves look like here: New Test Leads For Tempo Sidekick 7B or T&N, but these do not have the proprietary connector for the 1136-5000 module.

    Found the connector:

    Manufacturer Part #: PAG.M0.4GL.AC65G
    Manufacturer: LEMO
Description: Circular Push Pull Connectors PLUG

That connector will work on my CF 29E. Do you have the media bay door with the hole in it? I will go ahead and connect it through the modem also.

posted previously by mnem on the tester leads

Those there are standard 3 or 4 pin CBC type connectors commonly used in Amateur Radio and older Commercial Mobile Telecom; for the longest time I had a telephone-style handset paralleled along with the standard mic on the business-band radio in my wrecker; the old Uniden used that connector too.

I hope you know I wasn't insulting you. The Duhh comment was meant for myself.
You guys have been a great help to me. Thank you for your efforts. I can't wait to get all the parts and get the VIP Sidekick operational.
One more question, do you know what pins the leads go to on that connector. I can do the hit and miss and figure it out that way if necessary.

And to finish my end of this out for now here is what you are going to see when you get done. The black wires are from the modem. I have another picture or two.

    _________

There is a goof in this message. When I received my Tempo VIP Sidekick, I discovered that the receptacle is for only 4 pins. The correct LEMO part number is PAG.M0.4GL.AC65G. The good people at Mouser Electronics gave me a credit for the incompatible 5 pin Lemo plug. :D I learned that the correct LEMO plug may be special ordered for $14.02 each. Remember to order the bend (strain) relief GMA.1B.065.DG for $3.51 with each connector.

Thanks for the tip on the high quality TEMPO test lead set for about $25.00. However, the 3 bare wires at the other end will need to be soldered into the appropriate 4 pin LEMO plug.

My TEMPO VIP Sidekick P/N 1136-5000 has 4 pins in the receptacle, not 5. I removed the four Phillips head screws and broke the seal to determine the correct wire colors to go to each pin. :)

The correct LEMO P/N is PAG.M0.4GL.AC65GZ to accompany your description of a "proprietary four-pin round connector." Please see my other replies on this topic.

Thanks for the correct part number PAG.M0.4GL.AC65G; and you will note from the wiring diagram I created:

Viewed from wire side of connector:

    Black. ● ● Blank
    Green ● ● Red
    ...........■ ←←←←←←←←←←←«
    .... Register pin

the "Register Pin" ← is "square": that's because it's the plastic "spline"/"pin" on the body of the connector and not one of the electrical pins.

Have you had any luck with the Tempo VIP software?
