    Sierra Wireless MC5725

I'm having a problem activating my card. It turns out it's still listed as active with an existing customer. Unless they have found a way to clone the card config (it's not impossible as there is software out there that claims it can do just that) I suppose I will have 'free' access. However I'd like to find a way to check the list of esn's given me so I can replace the card with an unused and readily "registrable" MC5725 ...

My vendor has given me some hex ESN numbers to check to see if they're clear but Verizon told me they need the decimal number to check not the hex number.

I decoded a few of the hex numbers including the one for my card and they DO NOT MATCH the "decimal" number VZAM shows for my existing card.

I am hesitant to post the existing ESN here but take my word for it decoding the hex esn definitely doesn't correspond to the darned decimal version of the esn.

I have a card coming from Rick that I was going to use in a CF-19 so I'll try swapping that one but I will still need one for another unit then. I guess it would be foolish for their security but it would be nice if there was an online tool to check to see if an ESN could be used with their service.

Well never mind, someone (Rob) found it already: See ESN Converter

Another thread that solved itself. (sort of)

Just so it's a value add the format seems to be that it is 2 hex numbers
    i.e.

    Example ESN:

    604F5ABD (hex) which is really 60 4F5ABD

    Decimal
    096 XXXXXXX

I didn't realize the hex portion was two seperate numbers so any standard hex to decimal converter will work for you as long as you enter (example: 60 Hex = 96 Decimal) and (example: 4F5ABD Hex = 5200573 Decimal) or as Verizon asked me:

096-5200573 (this is a fake ESN though I am sure it belongs to someone since I just picked it randomly)

Hope I am making sense. I am new to this 3DG stuff never having used it.

Please do not give the ESN's to anyone, as that can cause problems down the road.

    Thanks man! :)

I would never do that. I made up the ESN in the example above for the very same reason, but I suspect just like mac addresses, they're merely sequential.
