WOW! Is this what CF-27/28 keyboards sell for?

Looks like a very high price for that item. That's actually a rubber one, which generally go for a bit less. Hopefully the buyer realizes what they actually bought although at that high price maybe not. IMHO good rubber keyboards are $50 and up, true emissive for CF-28 (green glow) are $100 and up.

What is the true emissive keyboard? I thought the rubber one was the rare one.

I'd trade it for a rubber backlit CF-M34 keyboard!

The continued confusion about emissive and backlit makes my hair hurt, but the keyboard isn't even OEM, no hot key legends! I have a couple of brand new ones just like that, Toshiba branded, $225 takes the pair and I'll pay shipping! :D :D :D

If I remember right, there are some Panny emissive keyboards that do not have the legends. Don't the ones with the separate screen and keyboard come lighted but with no legends? Anyway, this isn't rocket science, it is very simple. Lighted rubber, not emissive. Lighted chicklet, emissive. Period. Amen.

Using the pictures borrowed from TomCat, the top one of the three is an emissive and the bottom is the rubber. The one in the picture by itself is a large shot of the emissive used primarily on the CF-29/30 (but can be used on the 28 as it is a 2-wire). The 3-wire chicklet emissive is used on the CF-27/28 and requires the small Texas shaped board. The keys on it look just like a regular CF-29 black keyboard but they are lighted.

Thats my way of thinking ...But if you see them for sale some people confuse the issue

I just say backlit rubber or normal backlit, meaning hard keys (emissive)

    @ aaron7
A used 2 connector cf-27 style rubber backlite keyboard is worth about $50
A used 3 connector cf-28/cf-29 style rubber backlite keyboard is worth about $75
New from Panasonic they are about $275

That guy is 1. Incorrect and 2. Out of his mind thinking he can get that money... That's why it no-saled....

If you can't read in the stickies or with a few simple searches exactly what the differences are between the keyboards... You should NOT have a Toughbook... Period!

    Ummm...

    1. That guy is ignorant. 2. NOT out of his mind, evidently. It SOLD for $255. He has positive feedback to prove it. Plus, he just sold a similar rubber keyboard for a CF-19 for $175 with positive feedback.

So... either his customers are as ignorant as he is, or there's more than just a rubber keyboard in that package, or this is another one for the W.T.F. files like this nugget here that's been up on eBay for nearly 4 years:

Could be the same story... or perhaps he found out that 10 years ago these sold for $8000, and he doesn't get that now it's worth more to gut it and use the case for a toolbox, and that was BEFORE the video card and/or LCD monitor died.

Meh... eBay is laughing all the way to the bank on these d@uche-nuggets.

Wow I cannot believe those last two auctions.

[EDIT] If that kind of junk sells then I need to start buying stuff at the thrift store and unload it on the bay.

So the CF-27 rubber lighted keyboard does not fit the CF-28/29 as those have 3 connectors? I thought it fit all of them.

Oh well, $50 almost covers my CF-M34 rubber keyboard! $88 on ebay... crazy!

The CF-27 rubber keyboard will also work on the 28/29 even without the third connector this keyboard gets it's backlight power from the top connector.

aaron7...Thats how it play now on ebay even a manual, bios and driver are selling now while they can download those item on panasonic website for free. You can see the st.p.d.ty of some buyer, huh!

As T2G said the rubber keyboard from Cf-27 can be install on CF-28 and cf-29 but be prepare to muscle during installation If it is your first time to do it coz the cable ribbon from that keyboard is a bit short.
