    WWAN Ant as GPS Ant?

    Not that I know my Ant.... But would the WWAN ant on a CF-30 be adequate for a GPS ant? Or should a different one be "rigged"?

    Nope; GPS is a satellite signal; it requires a different type of antenna (multifilar or ceramic patch) from conventional radio signals used for WWAN & WiFi.

    We HAVE hacked the WWAN antenna location to accept a Sarantel GPS antenna on the CF-28 & CF-29; but that involves removing the antenna altogether & modding the LCD housing to accept the antenna. The CF-30 is well-known to have very good GPS stock, so not much modding in that area on that model.

    I think then maybe an RPSMA connector for my wireless might end up going there...

    A multi phased vertical might do okay, but once you start trying to run directional antennas, that location is a little bit of a pain in the butt.
