    Hello,

I'm a bit confused about the variants and options of the CF-M34, I think.
Let me see if I get this right: the final generation of this machine was Centrino based, with a 1GHz-CPU and a wifi-antenna on the right side of the display, taking the shape of a slim long black plastic box along the edge of the display casing.
Some older generations have no wifi, but they have the option of using WWAN, with different standards for different locations, among them GSM for Europe, and they have a folding antenna on the left side of the display.

Does anyone know if it is possible to install this WWAN hardware into a Centrino CF-M34, so that you end up with wifi and WWAN, one antenna on each side?

Yup! you can, but the problem is where you can get the newer version of the WWAN. The old one rim card are no loner supported.

I see, thanks. That would be a difficulty, of course.

Hehe, thanks, that's the spirit, I guess! :)
It's all just musing so far, though, I don't even have a CF-M34 yet. I'll probably rather start my Toughbook modding carreer by following Zippy-Man's excellent fingerprint-for-CF19 tutorial for my current machine, and then work my way up from there to the more 'free-form' modifications. ;)
