OK this is no big deal but if someone knows that would be great.
My cf-29 came with a sb555 verizon modem sled. I changed this modem out for a EM5625 sled.
There are three lights in the front for WWAN. Power, Message and a Status indicator.
With my sb555 modem all three lights lights work. When I press power the power light comes on the message light blinks a few times then the status light blinks then becomes steady once it connects to a network.
After putting my EM5625 Sled in now the power and message lights work but I never ever see the status light blink or come on anymore.
I have another EM5625 that i tried and the same thing with that one.
I have an account setup and everything works but the light being off when it is connected is kind of bugging me.
Any idea's?
I just checked the light agan by putting the sb555 back in and the light is good. Now that the EM5625 is back in the light is off again.
If ya got any idea's let me know. Thanks

Could there be a different driver set that runs the 5625 versus the 555 that is conflicting and not allowing that light to go on? I at first was thinking you shorted out the PCB, but if you reinstalled the 555 and got the light, then a driver issue is all I can think of; or software issue.

That is the first thing i came up with but then if i shut the 29 down completly you can still turn on the wwan with the computer off. So there shoul be no drivers or software running the lights. Both the sb555 and 5625 will turn on with the computer off. the sb555 will use all the lights and the em5625 will only use the power and message lights.
It is such a strange issue. I am stumped at what it would be.

make sure you remove all power from the unit when you switch, ESP with the 5625 sleds. ive had this issue before but shut the unit down, removed the acad and batt then reseated, works great, also when you slide it in, go into the bios and get defaults

I have changed the sleds making sure there is no power in the unit (pulled out main battery everytime) Now i am not sure if the person before me did. But they are supposed to be brand new. Also both of my sleds do it.
I have not tried the bios defaults yet. I will try that now.
Thanks for the info TBtech

Well that still did not do it. I reset the bios defaults and the light still did not come on. I will remove the card again and see if that makes any difference.

Little update on this. It was not the CF-29 in anyway. The same card is now in my CF-30 and the WWAN light still does not work. I tried both cards I have and no light.
