Toughbook will not recognize a card from another brand.
The brand of laptop the card came in is identified in firmware.
There are "ways" that sometimes work to reflash the card to another brand, but it is a lot of hassle and a good possibility to brick the card. I bricked several trying. The cards are not that expensive anymore.

    Been there tried that.
Want a couple Dell WWAN bricks?

It is "possible" to reflash a card and make it work from what I have read.
That is if you are experienced at it. Or if you are sadist and into pain(Linux fan) :bigconfused: :biglaugh:
Some of it is text window or terminal based. One part of syntax incorrect and you have a brick.
Much of the issue is the vagueness of instructions. Very same as Linux stuff.
The writers assume you have a tech level knowledge. If you ask for more details, you get blown off. It seems the "programmers and fanboys" don't have much in communication or people skills.

I got as far as making it a non Dell, but then could not change the second part that needed flashed.
Because it is now a non-card so to speak and the laptop wont recognize it. I spent hours/days on them.

is there anyway to add the WWAN option to my cf-31 through the dos, so I won't have to mention anything that is not allowed?

    I've been using:
    - Lenovo F5521gw in CF19 mk4 (EU)
    - Generic MC7340 in CF19 mk5 (EU)
    - Generic MC7710 in FZ-G1 (EU)
    - Generic MC7710 in CF19 mk4 (EU)
    - Lenovo EM7345 in CF-C2 (US)
    - Lenovo N5321 in CF-C2 (US)

Zero problems, none whatsoever. Might be a fiddle to get them going, but after that; smooth sailing. In all cases tested Win10, the CF19's were also used with Win7.
