I was just reading where Alecgold was looking to add a fingerprint reader to his CF19 and then I noticed where Gear6 asked him if he had found a way to activate the reader in the BIOS.

WTB finger print reader for CF-19 mk5 CF-WFP192R

And then I reliazed that I may have the same problem myslef as I am currently trying, despite my bum left hand, to move the OEMfingerprint reader from my CF30 Mk 1 to the CF30 Mk 2 that was not so equiped from the factory!

    Thoughts?

I don't think that secondary password was used until the "i" series intel processors on toughbooks.

To make it even more odd, I bought an original fpr, installed it and never needed the password!! This is not on a cf-31, but on a cf-19mk5, but with the excellent guide to install fpr, I would certainly try it.
It's really a delight to have when you lock your laptop often, how have i ever lived without one?? :D
Next thing on my list is an original GPS...

If you didn't need the OKC password for the FPR on the 19mk5, then, most likely I wouldn't need it either, on my 19mk4. ;)
but just in case I do, I have it (and have used it to unlock WWAN on my C1mk2, which btw, came with factory FPR).

Alec, what did you do to enable the full license on the Protector Suite 2012 ? I downloaded it from Authentec's site, when it was still up and running.
Those advanced swipe features are greyed-out on mine.

Hmmm, what did I do, I installed protector suite 2012 and it worked. But where I got it, I don't know. I think from panasonic? Otherwise I donwloaded it somewhere else. I know I had to do some searching. I got the 64bit version, but it's 45Mb, so I can't mail it.
AFAIK I didn't have to do any enabling for the full license, it just worked. But I had an original piece of hardware, perhaps that makes a difference?

you may be right - the one on their website doesn't come with the full license like the Panasonic one.
It's not right, though - my c1mk2 came with factory FPR, but the recovery disc doesn't include any FPR software.

I'll try to locate it on Panny's JP site.

Maybe you've downloaded it from the uploads section on TBT ?
