This has happened about 4 times over the past wk. The screen would start scrolling side to side very quick, it is also kind of blurry and distorted. When i restart the machine it works fine. But it happens at random times.

I assume this is a hardware related issue?

    1. Re-seat the connectors under the keypad.
    2. Try with-out extra ram.
    3. Heat related? Thermal pads?

I lean toward a connection issue. Maybe someone that knows something will chime in. :)

WOW! You are the ONLY other person that has this problem other than me!!! I had this problem on my MK1 with Windows 7 Professional loaded on it... GAH!

I never found a solution to this problem!

    Good thing I have a 31 now :)

I have seen this before, I believe it to be the mainboard, if its still in warranty send to heartland to repair.

Well thats unfortunate, i am not as rich as Rob though. Didnt think it would be mainboard related, screen related it thought maybe inverter or something.

It works fine after a restart. I dont think its GPU related since its intel based, but it is a possibility.

CF 30 so i doubt its under warranty i can call and check though. Rob did you do anything different or install anything new when yours occured?

For me it started happening after i installed the intel 6300, also i believe my inverter is going bad as there is a whine noise every now and then coming from the lower screen area where the cf 30 text is.

Does it freeze like this, or does it continue to move?

If it freezes, I'm going to guess memory controller issue. If it continues to operate but just chopped up like that, I'm going to say GPU. Of course, either could be a corrupted GART or DirectX driver.

If this behavior can be traced to flexing of the LCD housing or the position of the LCD hinge, then obviously there is your problem...

Have you tried replacing the RAM sticks? Sometimes bad or incompatible RAM gives unpredictable errors.
