I was trying to figure out how conceal mode works, specifically which key activated it. I knew it was installed since I did a recovery disk restore. I went into the bios and saw it there. I then proceeded to enable it. It gives you the option of which things to turn off or go into minimum (backlight, keyboard, radio, etc) well I set them all to off and rebooted. ....and everything was off no lights no, no lcd display. Well let me tell you after some panic and a lot of button pushing the key combo to enable conceal mode is FN + F8.![]()

I wish they didn't make you go into the BIOS to make changes to it though. It is a scary thought for a moment when you don't remember your in that mode and think something is wrong with your computer!

I take it you are talking about the CF-30?

As I recall... Someone brought this up when Panasonic first released the info... Some of us posted about the possibility of doing this retro. But short of using your Toughbook to guide you via GPS to leave the flaming stinking bag of dog poop on someone's doorstep.... Would you ever use it? I mean I can see the need for military and police... Maybe astronomers too.
I guess like most of the other stuff we doo... It's just the "coolness factor" that drives us! -
Yeah it is the CF30 I just got.

Its a software program in the new cf-30 mk-3's
I downloaded the software and installed it in my mk-2 ,but it it would not work as its built-in to the hardware on the mk-3 model

Yeah it is hardware built into the bios I think and the software is for when you are in Windows. The concealed mode works in the bios screen too, hence my panic since I could not even see the bios screen to switch it off.

I thought that mode was so that it DIDN'T go to sleep in the Police Cruiser while he was driving down the highway, but the screen went dark so he wasn't distracted by it while driving at night...
