I am what on my third charger now because the charring plug connect is getting frayed again. Does a charger exist that comes with a DC connector can swivel?

This would be for a cf-30

    Which end does yours have?
The straight end or the 90 ° end?

Using a generic charger but even IBM ones get frayed at the end. IF there is anyone that has the same problem...PLEASE say yes. Whould you like a new solution/design where this is is not a problem anymore?

I use a IBM charger with a 90 ° end on it on my CF52 everyday.
    Approximately 6 -8 hours a day.
I have never had the ends fray or break.

The generic chargers are almost always very cheaply made and junk. They always fail for one reason or another.
I m guessing yours all have the straight end. The Panasonic 90 ° end fits better and uses much heavier cable than the generic adapters.

    right ...
i have used the 12VDC/110AC dual voltage ibm adapter on my '30 for about a year on an almost daily basis ...
the cable/connector end as well as the mating connector show no signs of arcing , mechanical damage and just plain giving up the funk (a parliament reference for those out of my age group) .

i do not let the cable twist around and create a sharp bend or put undue strain on the mechanical aspects .

    playing devil's advocate here ...
being a repair tech for around 40 years , i have observed that (say) when one machine comes in with a similar "complaint" while 1000 other do not have the problem ... i always made sure to ask the customer about how they handled the machine .
i have seen "straight" connectors that had the cable formed at better that 90 degrees due to the customer passing the cable under the laptop .

    on a further note ...
there seems to be no good way to orient the connectors/ends on the cord and machine in order to avoid damage .
right , left or back , straight or 90 degrees ... it really does not matter .
what counts more so is the mechanical integrity and handling of these items .

Maybe you should look into a docking station. I did have a problem with my 19 AC so I now have docks on my desk and in my truck. No more unplugging the AC adapter.

I am looking for a steady supplier of parts. Toughruggednotebooks may be one of them.
