I want to see if everyone here can agree on a performance test software and compare results.

I am trying to clean, defrag the registry and the hard drive. Scan for viruses. Remove unneeded service sucking applications. Clean all temp files and all other files no longer needed. Shut down services that I feel I do not need.

I am not using any advised performance testing software that will read/write to the hard drive or memory. But want to see if we can compare, and recommend the best software that is free or for a fee for your Cf-29 and compare each of these models. My Balarc Advisor shows this as my hardware:

    Operating System System Model
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600) Matsua Electric Industrial Co.,Ltd. CF-29NTQGZBM 005
    System Serial Number: 6JKSA79309
    Asset Tag: UNDEFINED\n
    Enclosure Type: Notebook
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
    1.60 gigahertz Intel Pentium M
    64 kilobyte primary memory cache
2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: Matsua Electric Industrial Co.,Ltd. CF29-5 001
    Bus Clock: 400 megahertz
    BIOS: Phoenix Technologies K.K. V5.00L14 08/03/2006
    Drives Memory Modules c,d
320.06 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
261.21 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

SD Memory Card [Hard drive] (8 MB) -- drive 1
WDC WD3200BEVE-00A0HT0 [Hard drive] (320.07 GB) -- drive 0, s/n WD-WXE309T3E165, rev 11.01A11, SMART Status: Healthy 1528 Megabytes Installed Memory

    Slot 'Onboard' has 512 MB
    Slot 'DIMM' has 1024 MB
    Local Drive Volumes

c: (NTFS on drive 0) 320.06 GB 261.21 GB free

Anyway, want to see what performance test software you use, and then compare results and who has the highest performance results and compare there settings.

After reading the reviews from CNET performance test by passmark software passmark.com, I decided to give it a try. These are the results

My overall performance rating is 274.8. Pretty slow laptop compared to new and power hungry Cpus on the market. If you download this software, let us know what your rating is and let us know, how you were able to boost the performance running windows xp pro.

Last week I tested many of my laptops with 3D mark 2001.

    With these settings :
    1024 x 768 32bit color
    anti-aliasing = none
    Frame-Buffer = Tripple
    Texture Format = Compressed
    Z-Buffer = 24bit
    Game Detail level = low
    Rendering Pipeline = D3D software T&L

my CF-29 mk4 (with 1 gig memory) gaves me 3474 3D marks. Rather good for a laptop with intel 915 gfx.
    on 800x600 32bit results are = 3223 3D marks
