I was dismantling a CF-73 to reach the CMOS battery -- a real pain. After removing the bezel above the keyboard I noticed a small pushbutton on the left, under where the "SD" logo is on the bezel (Mk5). It cannot be pushed or seen with the bezel in place.

I tried pushing it when power is off, and pushing it when booting up. Didn't see any difference. This CF-73 does not have any OS loaded yet, so can't test it when fully running.

Anyone know what the CF-73 hidden button does?

Maybe the best way to find out what it is to check the service manual, find the part number and see what its called...and I don't see it  do you.

That may be the wwan switch. I will check my wwan model 73 when I get home.

He said it's under the bezel and not visible until you remove the bezel.

It's the modern version of the Bat Signal! :swoon:

YES! That's it -- ADOR is a genius! :notworthy:

Mine does not have WWAN and the bezel is different, covers up that button and all those lights except the left-most LED.

I wouldn't really say a genius but I did play with the 73 models for a while. I only have one with SD card adapter, one with WWAN, the rest were just the plain Jane ones. I just sent one of them overseas and working on parting out and getting rid of the rest. I may keep one of them.
