Just wondering. I just received a nice MK3 CF-25 with the 12" screen and the built in flexible antenna on the screen. I followed the wire inside to an antenna jack in the CD/floppy bay.
What was it for? Can it be changed for internal (well, PCMCIA) wireless?

I never had the modem , but the cf-25 had a removable RIM wireless setup option for the mediabay
I don't think that the frequency of that RIM antenna would be close to wi-fi,and without test equipment it would be hit or miss for tuning
A bulkhead antenna connector with a flexible rubber antenna would be the best if you don’t want to use the standard pcmcia wi-fi cards antenna
Btw the cf-25 is fussy on pcmcia cards , I had issues finding cards that worked

Yah, the CF-25 is BIOS limited for older PCMCIA cards I guess.
I'd love a CF-28 but no way I could ever afford one! -
The CF-28's can be found for good prices. My all black MKII was on ebay and i sniped it for under $300

You should be able to put together a decent 800Mhz for under $200, a bit more with it in ready to run configuration. I have a MKII I would sell for around that and a 600Mhz for about $150 with XP and running.

I really want the black rubber backlit keyboard... I had that in my 1GHz model with a high range wifi card and everything... traded it a couple years back for my PS3! haha
If I spend more than $100 on a laptop it will be a CF-29. Someday...
What is the antenna on the CF-25 for?
