I have obtained a set of recovery CDs for my CF-18 Mk2 digitatizer. I have done some searching on how to use them correcty, but I havn't come up with specfic instructions?

I am using them to wipe my 18 clean of all of the junk the PO has installed. I want to make sure I do this right so everything works. I would hate to mess this up and have to install software/drivers individually.

    thanks for the help!

I followed the instructions. Upon disk 1 booting it gave me an error. It said permission denied. Then it asked if I would like to continue running the scripts. What do I do now?

...I clicked ok to run anyway, and nothing happened.

Yes. I have it set to boot from the USB CD drive in bios and I have verified that by hitting escape on the bios screen.

Now after restarts, still booting from CD, nothing happens.

..I cannot open the CD either because it says it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted.

    ...wooo-saww

So I restarted and the error popped back up.

But now it reads "Internet Explorer Script Error". "an error has occurred in the script on this page"
    line: 1
    Char: 7
    Error: Invalid Character

What is going on? How do I get it to boot from the CD?

I burned another disk 1. It now boots from the disk.

But I get the error " the following file is missing or corrupted :COMMAND.COM"

    How do I fix this?

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP.

    Try the other usb port

Check the bios settings and make sure the hard drive is not password protected

Check that you are restoring with the correct disks

The CD drive works for all other CDs I have put in it. Would it work fine for all that and not work for the recovery CD?

his post on this issue was the only solution for my cf-18. Only other thing to say is don't get too fast on hitting enter when loading the restore disc as you will get an error message, give it a few seconds and sometimes even then you'll have to hit enter again till it takes and does what it should do with no hangups. hope this helps......... aye aye Captn!......Driller
