That was a good price, you still need a harddrive and caddy but that normal. I got one from them some time ago and the touch worked great. Let us know how you make out

I see you will need to add a wireless card but it might already have the antenna....maybe

I leave for work on the 11th so I won't get my hands on it before then. I will have to wait till i get back a month later. I was surprised to get it. The other one they had looked the same but had a bios lock. It sold for more than what I got mine for. I looked up the configuration and seen that it didn't have wireless from the factory, just have to see what I got when it comes in. But being gone will give me plenty to time to think about what all I want to do with it. So far I have got into the 28,29,07,51,73 models of toughbooks. Got a 72 and that 18 on the way. I have heard they are great little machines.

I have a CF 18 MK II that I use for work. I had 3 different drives running XP Tab, XP Pro, and Win 7. I used the XP Tab drive for work and it was a small hard drive. I use the WD Scorpion Blues for XP Pro and Win 7. One was bigger than the other, but I can't remember because I bought my 19 MK IV, which I now run Win 7 Pro 32 bit and Win 7 Pro 64 Bit on different HDD's. I bought the CF-VB181 for my 18, but I now use it for my 19. Works fine. Loved having GPS on the 18, once I got it working, PITB!!!! As far as other stuff, I had to go with the Verizon MiFi on my 18, due to work constraints. When I got my 19, GOBI is the way to go... Not much info on installing, but the fellows here helped me get the BIOS to enable the WWAN! Keep reading all of the threads, even older ones cause these guys know their stuff!!!!

    Enjoy your NEW TB CF-18

It came in today and looks as good as the pictures. A nice surprise was it has a battery in it and a caddy. It was marked as it didn't come with them. I looked at the ebay listing and checked to make sure I got the right machine and the serial number matched. Now to decide if I want to try windows 7 on it or go with xp. Guess I will have to get another one now since I had already ordered a caddy off ebay, lol. I still can't believe how light it is compared to the CF-29.

Put XP on one caddy and Win 7 on the other. That way you can play with each and see which one you like better.

I pulled the 80GB harddrive out of my cf-w2 project with the inverter/fuse problem. I haven't really touched them since I got the cf-t5's and the cf-w5. It was already loaded with XP. To my surprise it booted. I never had much luck on that working. I uninstalled all the previously installed drivers and started putting the CF-18 drivers on it. I will see if it has wireless tonight and If i can get the homemade gps to work on it.

    EDIT:
Got wireless up. It did have the internal antenna in it factory wrapped. It looks perfect inside like it had never been opened before. I put in a broadcom card.
