    Whats with the OEM stand alone battery charger? Price is insane

    Just bought a new CF-31 MK4 and grabbed another OEM battery off of ebay for cheap. I would like a stand alone battery charger but at or around $150 seems a little steep especially when I can just buy a a whole CF-30 for around $65 and use that just for charging. Same result, right?

    one can get ripped-off by high prices , however ... the allure of very cheap prices are always there .

    I paid around $20.00 for mine but I am on eBay all the time so I do get a lot of good buys. I also have friends that know what I am looking for so when a good deal comes around they let me know. Check this search out http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...nic+Toughbook+CF-VCBTB1W&LH_PrefLoc=2&_sop=15 . I see 2 auctions now for around $40.00 shipped which is not too bad unless you want to wait weeks or months spending hours watching eBay for that good buy . Also many don't know but you will also need your Toughbook charger to make this work. This never made any sense to me at all... they call the CF-VCBTB1W a charger but you need a charger for it to work????? :confused:

    Some of the newer units require the newer charger. CF-VCBTB2W.
    Technically they call the power brick an AC adapter not a charger. The charger/DC to DC converter is actually inside the laptop and battery.

    Thanks so much. Bought and paid and it will b here Monday. Next on the list is the DVD bay 2nd battery but that thing is nuts in price! Maybe I'll get lucky and find one on eBay. Thanks again!

    woops....just got up...still working on the coffee :D

    There is one on ebay but the seller said its for the cf-30 and 31. They are not the same and will not work.
