Over here in blighty, ebay is flooded with basic CF-D1's - but they are cheap! £130 gets a scruffy one, while £180 gets a nice one... there looks to be a couple of hundred! ive poked a SKU into the configurator, but it draws a blank.
Ive ordered a nice one, will be interesting to see what its like with an SSD

I want one, but have zero need. I could justify a trade though..
Anyone want to trade a nice complete CF 31 for a CF D1?

Celerons arnt very nice - ill give you that... but, generally speaking my Celeron FZ-M1 isnt much different in day to day use to my i5 FZ-M1 - until you throw something that actually needs some processing oomph - then it does start to bog down.
My D1 should be here for weds... so should find out then!Shawn likes this. -
Well, my machine has arrived and I quite like it! for a unit that has done 14000 hours its in amazing shape, not a scratch, dent or scuffed plastic!
Ive added a little SSD and thrown Windows 10 onto it - Panasonic doesnt list any drivers for the Mk1/Mk2 D1 which is a bit of a pain, but I lifted the Util folders from the original disks...
Vanilla Win10 Enterprise installed everything other than SD reader and Tablet buttons. Even the System Devices for Panasonic PC were installed correctly.
as expected, its no i7! but even on my domain, with the various GPOs and DLP software running, its not bad - certainly no slower than a first gen i3 with a winchester drive.
Mine was £180 as it was a nice one - which I think is good value, but a mildly scruffy one for £130 if you can live with missing port covers id say its close to a bargain! Just a shame there is no USB3.0toughasnails likes this. -
Drivers for your CF-D1 can be found on the Panasonic Japan site:
