No I haven't won the lottery or anything, but I never hesitate to suggest Toughbooks to people on the industrial controls forums and I've got someone looking for one right now. Where's the best place to get a new one?

Sorry to be vague but I chatted with a guy the other day that got a great deal from a place in Texas. He bought a CF-30 touchscreen with all the bells and whistles and in great shape for just under $2500. I didn;t get the name though.

They certainly are posting some good prices for them on ebay recently.... Though all the rest are going up!

That's because you aren't scaring the sellers. When they realise I'll show up at their house with the hearse, a shovel, and duct tape... they don't screw me over. ;)

I think the guy that sold me the keyboards in Washington state realises I only get 10MPG though...

To each their own, but that's like not investing your savings because you're afraid of the risk

Well, I actually bought mine (CF-30) off Ebay fully loaded with every option except the fingerprint/smartcard reader for a really cheap $2699.00.....I took a chance, but the guy had 3 of the exact units, amd my boss bought 2 of the three, taking a big chance.... 5400 spent in a few mouse clicks.... But, I do say, i love this machine.... There are good and bad on ebay, it is just a chance... I know that CDW is way too high in price...

I've gotten all my toughbooks off ePay. You win some, lose some, but it's wise to check up on their feedbacks. There are sellers who'll send you on a wild goose chase and also some, who are real gems. You do have a choice.

Yup, that's really my car in my avatar. Right now it's sitting at work with a dead transmission that I'm gonna pull out in the next few weeks to rebuild, so I've been driving my ex-cop car everywhere.
