Hello,i read the panasonic forum several times, but now its my first post.

    I am able to buy a Panasonic Toughbook CF-28 or a CF-72.

    The CF-28 has a pentium III - 800Mhz and the CF-72 has a pentium IV, 1,6 Ghz.

    I already have a CF-27 and a CF-71. So, what Toughbook is better ?

The rugged CF-28, that is a bit slower, or the semi-rugged CF-72 that is faster ?

Oh, and i sometimes take my laptops on the road.

    I depends on you
    The 72 replaces your 71 , and the 28 replaces your 27
An cf-28 mk-2 800mhz runs xp quite well, and would be my choice

I can sort of compare them to my CF 29 and my CF 51. The 51 I use at home all the time, but anytime I need to take a laptop out into the world, I grab the 29.
If I could only get one of the two you are looking at, I would also go with the fastest CF 28 I could afford. You can tweak XP to run nicely on the slower machines as long as you don't try the latest games. The 28 also offers a lot of potential to customize it to your personal needs.

Thanks you for your fast replies.

Do you folks also know what the current marketprices are for the CF-27,CF-28 and the CF-72 ? I have bought a CF-27 Mk2 in germany for 90 euros, but now i've found a company in Holland, who sells barebone working CF-27s Mk2 for 50 euros.

One of the most important differences between the 28 and 72 is that the
28 is fully rugged while the 72 is semi.

The fundamental difference is that you can beat the CF-72 to DEATH with the CF-28; try it the other way around, and you'll STILL beat the CF-72 to death.

If you need to watch DVDs (The CF-28 WILL play DVDs, but just barely) on it or streaming video in any decent kind of resolution, the CF-72 wins hands down.

Still love my CF-28 for "Nuking CISCOs"...
