CF-30 or CF-74 or CF-72. Pros and cons from the gurus please. Just using as a general laptop that I carry in the truck. Thanks

I'll say CF-30 with gps inbuilt or CF-29(1.6Ghz) with inbuilt 20+channel gps w/out tampered color like black or blue as you will mostly use it outside/outdoor. And look for the unit that doesn't compromize the external port.

I am replacing the CF-29 now, although it had no GPS. And I dont know what you meant about the black and blue screen or whatever. And what do you mean, "compromised external port". Sorry for the stupid questions. I know little about computers. Thanks

Then go for cf-30. The panasonic fully rugged toughbook has a silver flake LID color that its purpose is to reflect the sun ray in order to minimized heat into the unit, as you know this unit has no fan. Its heat absortion is its body itself with the help of a heat pipe. Any color the replaces this silver flake except white will compromise the unit ability to absorb heat.

with regards to CF-72, it is old. Your CF-29 is much better than CF-72. The cf-72 is not a fully rugged toughbook. Its a semi rugged as the same as CF-74 but CF-74 is much better that cf-29 though only because it has better speed and performance.
