    The rugged Dell looks interesting. I'm glad the rugged notebook market has more competition since that will boost inovation and maybe lower prices.

    finally an American manufacturer enters the game. Its gonna be a while before the used models circulate around ebay and the like, and become affordable enough for a joe like me.

    But its always good to see more players in the ruggedized game.

    edit: under the customize options it appears they have an option for a 64GB solid state drive, I need to see if I can get something similar for my toughbook.

    lowang... You can get a solid state drive for your laptop now... You just need to pony up about $400 for it.

    I'm not sure about the Dell... I'll bet it will be made out of ABS plastic. Thick plastic... but plastic none the less.
