Why the HECK doesn't my CF-31 keep it's calibration in Touchscreen mode after a reboot?!?!?

I use to have it in "tablet mode" but that sucked because of the HORRIBLE sensitivity and the fact that the mouse only moved there on the release, NOT on the touch. Thanks to an AWESOME panny rep, he told me to use the XP Drivers in the "touchscreen mode" and it works great! HOWEVER! It WILL NOT keep the calibration settings after I shut it down or reboot. (Hibernate and standby are fine).

What to do :( what to do :(...

    Rob - FRUSTRATED!

EDIT: Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. CF-31 as per my sig.

Find the file that the numbers are saved in after calibration and then force it to load at each boot. It pro'bly uses a default setting at re-boot after finding and recognizing the TS. Just a guess. (Ummm that's what Linux does :))

That's odd... I can't find the file that stores the info though :(

It's uber secret or something. On "your" 0 hour CF-29 XPP the only file that the search engine shows as changed is the .pif. I can't believe that. We need someone that knows how to delve deeper into the secret/hidden stuff.
I did a search for all files, modified today, sorted by time....nada.

    We need a geek. :)

Guys, the cal data is not stored in a file. It is stored in the registry IIRC.

When you perform the cal function, the software is looking for a offset value everytime you hit the red plus symbol. When all 9 pluses (sometimes more) have been hit, the software will save an average offset value in the registry. I don't remember exactly where but search the registry for an X-axis and y-axis value.

Hey the geek showed up. :D Yah we're talking about that PM. Didn't want to confuse everybody....Rob is enough.
Open registry and do a search for caldata, mosey on down a couple [F3]'s and caldata appears in the fidmou section. Scroll down there and four numbers appear. X,x,Y,y.
Is this what we (rob) changes or are these the default numbers for the corners of the TP.
Caldata which is only found in the registry has info but it is written in registry/speak.
Then there is the fact that he's using an XP driver, Calwin.exe for a USB TS in W7. Hmmpphhhh!

Comments? sorry 'bout the geek bit.

Jeff thanks for the input mate

Update *KNOCK ON WOOD* - the calibration is randomly keeping just fine... I didn't do a damn thing! Working just great! And has been for the last 2 or 3 weeks now.

    Thanks :)

    Hey Rob,

Don't mean to hijack your thread but do you know if a DVD caddy from the
    30 will fit the 31?

On my 31, if I go from my XP hard drive to my 7 hard drive, the calibration is lost and an additional reboot is needed to make the calibration utility function. I suspect the issue is in the BIOS.

Yes, that is also the case with any CF-19 or CF-30 switching from XP to Vista or Win7 or back the other way. Two reboots for proper function. It probably has something to do with the EC.

Is just because on Xp the bios set the ts to Touchscreen while on Vista or Win 7 the bios switch the ts into tablet mode. Thats why everytime you switch the OS from Xp to win 7 the TS is unstable until you reboot it twice.
