I saw an older post (2007) from TOUGHBOOK that mentioned an internal pc card slot, for a Cisco Aironet 350 series wi-fi card. This is the kind of card I use for my wireless internet, plugged into one of the slots on the side. Has anyone ever installed a Cisco 350 card inside a cf28? It would be nice if it is possible, save me another side cover replacement!

    Thanks,
    -DDaymen

Bob is right it's old, but I have several and they work great for some uses. They run only 802.11"b" no "g" and only 11MBps, but that is faster than most people's internet connection. And "b" carries noticeably farther than "g", especially since these cards have 100mW output. They will fit into the internal 3rd PC card slot of a CF-28 and with the OEM wifi antenna it makes a slick setup.

Of course there are much better cards available, and some with 600mW power, but the choices for effective wifi antennas are limited for CF-28. And creative modding is where the fun starts ... ;)

Great info.! I never thought about upgrading my Wi-Fi card, have had three of the 350 series cards forever. What would you all recommend for a replacement?

    Thanks again,
