Ok , I've got a Cf-c1 the card in it has glitches on Bluetooth...I'vebeen looking atcards but does anyone have any suggestions?
Several things I've seen and people I've talked to say broadcom....
-
What card is in it?
-
Intel centrino 6205...
-
Panasonic whitelists some Toughbooks Wifi cards. I don't know about the CF C1.
Short answer is that it's more than likely you are limited to the 6000 series of Intel cards.
A few Atheros cards "may" work, but it seems to be random as to which ones.
Does the C1 use a full height or half height card? -
It's half....I've been trying to search for people that have tried something different but hasn't yielded much
-
This thread is interesting.

Yes it is...seems there's ways around it...but it would be nicer for plug and play...are the newerIntel cards in that series as glitchy?
-
..................Double posted...My bad

Link to your other thread on this subject.

From reading that thread, I see you have the original Bluetooth and are looking to install a Wifi card with Bluetooth such as the Intel 6235.
My guess is that your problems are driver related and not hardware related.
I also see from other posts that you are running Win7 64bit on it.
Did you use an original restore disk on it? -
7260 is stable.
-
this is where im a little lost, according to specs I thought it said the wifi card was built in with Bluetooth....but no I don't have the original restore disks, I downloaded the drivers from Panasonic.....but the issue with the Bluetooth is that when using a Nexiq usblink it has issues communicating on the J-1939 data link but ok on J-1708......its strange.. nexiq blamed it on the Toshiba Bluetooth stack...this points that way...you know how it goes...I just need to find a way around it and im trying to stay away from something external due to the ability for it to break and cause more down time
-
So what you really need is a better Bluetooth stack.
-
the windows Generic won't work at all. . . tried It LoL
-
The Intel 6235 series Wifi card has Bluetooth built in. It "may" work better than the original Bluetooth card. Or at least give you more stack options.
You would probably want to completely remove the original Bluetooth to avoid conflicts.
I am guessing you will have to buy a used card and try it. The Intel 7000 series may be a better card, but I'll bet it's whitelisted and a 6000 series is all that will work.
Currently the Intel 6235 in less than $15.00 used. -
Do youknow of any stack options that might help...I've been struggling to find any
-
No I personally do not know of different Bluetooth stacks. I don't actually use Bluetooth anymore. I'm much more of a hardware guy.
A while back when I was messing with Bluetooth, I had a problem with the stack. I found the free provided Toshiba stack was different from the purchased one. I tried the purchased one and it solved the problem. That was a few years ago.
I'm sure someone else on the board will chime in with more information.
I do have a original Panasonic Bluetooth install disk. If that would help , PM me. -
Thanks Shawn I've pmed you....
but for Bluetooth use it a lot at work due to the factor of how many trucks I hook up to in a day its easier than tripping over cables...also when running tests on a unit the cables aren't always long enough for it..... -
Ok got another c1 today for the wife, robbed the Bluetooth driver of it to try lol...so far I've tried broad com and several others no luck
-
may help???

tried the Toshiba in the first one (updated) but it wont get the key our web filter at work blocks it and yeah....
Thanks again shawn

First time I'm happy with bluetooth is after installation of 7260.
It isn't the fastest Wi-Fi card in the world, but finally my bluetooth headset works stable when I want to use it with PC)
I could connect handsfree to CF-19 MK2/MK3/MK4 OEM bluetooth, but always had troubles with sound after that.
Also I have to say Toshiba bluetooth drivers are more functional than Microsoft's, but they sometimes use CPU power in background. Had to kill those processes many times. -
which Toshiba Bluetooth are you using if I may ask?
-
CF-19 OEM Bluetooth stack driver is made by Toshiba.
P.S. To make it clear, for 7260 I'm using Intel driver. -
well I was wrong its two separate cards
but still has the issue, I wonder about changing them to one that's integrated...
-
-
I got that Toshiba one to download but when you go to "activate it" and enter in your email to get the unlock key it goes to Toshibas web site and says "Toshiba is no longer activating Bluetooth..... something or other"
im taking a couple of days off of work.... 4 day weekend(well need after the bs this week)...mini over night trip with the fam and ill be tinkering with this all weekend....im not going to let this beat me lol... -
I am out of ideas other than pull the stock card and install an Intel 6235 with the Intel drivers(stack)
-
Me too..sorry to be a pain...and now a sick lil girl...I see a long night coming on...
I'm half tempted to order the 6235 and give it a try...and hope it works ...I just wish I new what was on the white list...I wonder what card I'd in the new Cf-53 we've got at work...might try and see what happens.... -
My CF-53 MK2 has an Intel N6205 from the factory. It also has a Broadcom Bluetooth radio which has never worked but I'm not sending it to Heartlands 'cause I never use Bluetooth.

Hmm...here's a question maybe a stupid one but the other pcie slot that has nothing in it, could that be used for a Bluetooth board with a modified antenna?
-
It's may be possible, but it would be completely trial and error. I managed to get a GPS to work in one. I could NOT get a TV card to work. I know a SSD will NOT work in that slot (The WWAN slot)
You may end up buying half a dozen cards to find one that works.
I "think" the best gamble is the Intel 6235. So far I have had very good luck with cards in the same series. Upgrading a 5100 to a 5300. Upgrading a 4965BG to a 4965BGN....
Here's one for $11.00..... Intel Advanced N 6235 A B G N Half Mini PCI E Bluetooth 6235ANHMW PA5001U 1MPC | eBay
One more thing.. DO NOT buy any card that was in a HP or a Lenovo/Thinkpad..they will not work..... -
Thanks again Shawn, ordered that one really didn't want to wait for one from China and that one was right up the road from me so should be here Wednesday or sooner
-
Please keep us posted on the results..
-
Only down side to eBay....shows a tracking number...receive date of today....nothing shows up and no tracking from there to here... Grrr.
-
-
I did ... Same results seller got back and stated a "screw up" on there side...drop shipping another one from another warehouse
-
Now that's a new one...Hmmm........
The standard connector on a WIFI card is a U FL........
Here is some info on the different types.
http://www.wellshow.com/products/mini-coax-connector/hirose-connector/
From another post..
the Intel 6235 connectors used the IPEX MHF4 connectors
I was unaware of this.
This guy had the reverse problem. They had several solutions
http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...less-card-antenna-connector-problem-help.html -
Oddly enough the pix from the6235 connector are the same but the real life card is different..o well live & learn Right?
-
Interesting note....took the wifes C1 to work....tried Bluetooth and still doesn't work with the Nexiq....I guess its due to the Bluetooth board in them
-
Yes in still struggling with this and after tripping over the cord and the c1 hitting the cement and jamming the usb cord in the usb port and the whole system locking up and taking the bezel out....I need a Bluetooth...anyone have any recommendations on class1?????
-
Links to your other threads. Blair do you want to combine this with his other thread on the same subject? It's my first link below....Otherwise no one will know what's going on..

Cut paste his original post..
Ok, I hope I'm posting this in the right spot but I've recently got a Panasonic CF-C1 win7 pro 64bit. It had built in Bluetooth and when hooking upto my Nexiq USB link on J-1939 it won't lock/communicate on J-1708 it'sjust fine no issues faster than it used to be on my CF-30 which also had built in Bluetooth.... Only main difference between the two besides diff models is one ran win7 pro 32bit and the new one(C1) runs win7 pro 64bit.(processors are diff.. etc etc...)..but before buying an aftermarket Bluetooth set up I was just wondering if anyone had some input.....it hooks to everything else great...just that one issue which is a big one for me as about 80% of what I do every day is communicated on J-1939
EDIT: it was using Toshiba Bluetooth stack and according to Nexiq they said Windows generic Is better....tried and now in worse shape....any ideas? -
Since it all worked fine with the CF30 and Win7 32bit.....I suggest a factory 32bit restore disk or at least a win7 32bit install on the C1 and see what happens.
-
Might have to try...can't afford another fall with it...

Tried one of those back in the Cf-29....it epically failed...found out our it guy(will one of them) has the iogear class1 he's going to send me to try
-
Intel 7260 works very well in my CF-19 MK4. Both BT and Wi-Fi. Win8.
-
Might have to try one if these usb ones fail.... So far all have...
-
Never use USB in these PCMCIA adapters. And try not to remove adapter when PC is on. I had problems with them.
