I have a CF-29N5B34BM that I am having alot of trouble connecting to Wifi Networks. I have all the drivers loaded and Intel ProSet is installed. when I start the Manual Diagnostics tool and run the test it fails at the "Radio Test" portion, the test summary on the right says: Software radio is "OFF". when I run the ProSet software I get absolutely nothing, there is no button on the bottom right of the window for me to turn it on, I have no idea where to look to turn this on. Device manager shows it as ENABLED and working properly.

In my experience ProSet is a bit picky. Try to install it and install it again. Also, try another version of the software (older version). that might help.

Naton is right about the ProSet software being picky. In my opinion the wireless card is bad. It takes a 2200BG from the factory, but as we all know, that card is crap as you CANNOT connect to WPA networks with it (ONLY WEP). If you don't have a spare 2200BG to test with you can pay me $10 to cover shipping and I'll give you one. If you don't want to do that follow the below ideas:

Having owned a 29, I would HIGHLY recommend to just NOT use the convoluted "ProSet" garbage. Uninstall ALL WIFI drivers AND proset software. Then, ONLY re-install the WIFI drivers and NOT the proset. Use the native XP WIFI utility as it works great!

    Good luck!

I could not wait any longer for a possible solution so I just re-imaged the laptop. I will have to wait till tomorrow after all patches and encryption is complete to see if it works now. If re-imaging the laptop does not fix it then, as Rob said the card may be bad. Just as a reminder where on the laptop may I find this wireless adapter to remove and replace with another one?

Their is many threads on here with this same problem and to fix it they did what Rob said and only use the native XP wifi utility to fix this ...I think its also in the F.A.Q. too

Always let windows manage your WIFI ....problem solved :D
