    Hi,

to improve the performace I'd like to replace the HDD with an SSD (Samsung 850 Evo) and this would be a good opportunity to update from XP to Win 7 x86/x64 but according to the panasonic homepage, there are no Win 7 drivers or driver packages available for my Toughbook CF-52 Mk1 (Model No. CF-52CCABVBG).
Is there a way to get Win 7 working on the Mk1 (preferably the x64 version because I got a licence key for that)? If so, are there any critical aspects to this combo regarding drivers, hardware etc.?

Thank you very much for your help! :D

    EDIT
It seems that there are/were refurbished units of the Mk1 with Win7 and even Vista available but I wonder where those drivers come from?!

Well I used a DDell install disk Win7 32bit..And on a CF52 it installs drivers for everything except one..If I recall, that's the hotkeys...

If you don't have 6gb of memory or more 64bit Win7 is a waste of time and will actually run slower than 32bit Win7.

mk1 vista drivers should work fine for 32bit

Thank you very much for your quick response! This means I could go with the Vista drivers for the CF-52A/B/Dxxxxxx models (mk1 and mk1l) a from the Panasonic homepage?
The model version: 'CF-52A/C' where my notebook (CF-52CCABVBG) would fit into doesn't bring up any drivers at all - that's why I ask.

I have put W7 32bit on a few of the 52 and I used the Vista 52 (L) drivers. I also let W7 install the drivers on a few and I think Shawn is right...no Hot key drivers. As for ebay and the refurbished units...it's a joke. All they did was take some "Armour all" to make it shine and install W7 on it and call it "refurbished" and charge 2-3 times what it's worth. We have a few members here that DO sell "real" refurbished units. They know what refurbished means.
