Hi everyone!
Newbie virgin post here!![]()
I have clean installed Windows 7 RC on my Toughbook W7D and am trying to re-install the Panasonic applications such as Wireless LAN switch and Touchpad Utility Application, etc but I get an error message saying "Access to Panasonic Misc Driver was unsuccessful. Confirm whether the Panasonic Misc Driver is available."
I have downloaded the Panasonic Misc Driver and Panasonic Common Components files and unpacked them to c:\util2\ folder as directed. However there is no .exe file for the Misc Driver for installation. Is there a correct sequence of drivers and files to unpack and install to get all the Panasonic utilities and applications to work properly?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

There are no drivers yet available for win 7 my friend on panasonic toughbook. Try to live with that until it officially come up or you may try the driver for win vista.

That being said, drivers do not necessarily have a setup.exe. Have you tried just right-clicking the inf-file of the misc driver (newmisc.inf) and selecting 'install'?

Have tried and had the same issues with the misc driver on a cf74 and a cf19 a few months ago

I'm using 7RC on a few laptops right now; one thing you CAN try is to run the install program using "compatibility mode" for XP. Right click on the executable, a dialog will come up where you can tell it to run in compatibility mode; when you select that, a popup comes asking you to start the executable so it can work.
Sometimes it will seem to freeze up; if that happens, move the popups around - sometimes it pops up another dialog UNDER the one on the screen and is just waiting for you to click a button in that hidden dialog box.
I've gotten updated drivers for Intel GSM 915 chipset Video to run in RC7 that way, and I've been told a dozen times you CAN"T RUN that chipset under Windows Blista...

Hey thanks for all the input guys!
I've managed to resolve most of the Panasonic applications (was a matter of installing the Panasonic Common Components and Misc. Drivers via the Device Manager in the proper sequence before installing the other apps) except for the Wireless Switch as I forgot to turn the wireless on before installing the drivers. Will get around to fixing it later. Win7 managed to help resolve most of the other compatibility issues. So far so good.
