I found this on the web. It gives you little secrets to windows 7 and also talks about the upgrading from vista to complete fresh install. It's a 1086 pages in pdf. I have not read the entire thing, but it looks very helpful and might answer some question for people wanting to make the move to windows 7.

Thanks, I am always looking for reference material and this looks pretty interesting!
-
Thanks I just started using win 7 myself first as a dual boot on my desktop and now on my laptop. This will come in handy. As much as i love Xp, I really like win 7. It is bit of learning curve but intuitive.
-
This will come in handy, thanks
-
Oh good lord...
This isn't "Reference"... it's propoganda. It's a thinly-veiled sales presentation made to LOOK like a "Windows 7 for Dummies" type product.
Gimme a F-ing break.

Everyone wont find this useful. Some will
There's still lots of the people in the world that only knows where the power switch is.

True, If it was me I would have given up after the first 5 pages
.
I would say it was Bill Gates as he would know windows insideout -
I already read every page of this article 4 times now and now I'm so smart I can use Windows 7 to make my toast in the morning...
Thanks man! -
while it is a bit on the shilling side it does provide a rundown of basic features and some stuff that i could find elswhere, but its here in one place. I found it a quick read and found a few tips that helped me. I would have eventually discovered them, but til I get as used to Win 7 as I am with XP it is worth a look.

and the wife makes me get up to turn it on.

I've heard that the book comes with a money back guarantee...
-
While it might seem like "MS propaganda," the book was actually written by Paul Thurrott and Rafael Rivera. If there would be any two people to know Windows 7, it would be those two. http://www.amazon.com/Windows-7-Secrets-Paul-Thurrott/dp/0470508418
Paul also has his own podcast over on Twit, and runs The Supersite for Windows. -
That said... the document still feels more like a press release for geeks rather than actual edification; the content is pretty basic and they spend just a LITTLE too much time gushing about how THIS TIME M$ got it right.

Like I haven't heard THAT before... -

Booboo12, do you have any kin from down around Georgia, you look vaguely similar...
For someone like me that skipped over Vista all together the book has been helpful, if only because M$ insisted on, renaming and moving so many things, plus killing off the Classic Mode. -
And yeah, the book is definitely handy if you skipped Vista... If you didn't then not so much.
-
Sorry I have to say this books seems rather useful, chapter 23 and 24 seem interesting.
Back in highschool I dicected XP, I customized my registry and I was in charge of every minute little thing...
I skipped vista....
I work two jobs....
^^ all adds up to: this book contains useful info.
thanks OP
