    Good morning.
Does anybody have experience using a CF-VDW07 (transflective or not) with a new PC with Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) ?
I have different items and I need this display in my activity. I spoke with Panasonic and I know the product is discontinued: they told me "try and see".
I do not have a PC with W7 but I have to buy one. It will be useful to know if anibody have already did something.
    Thanks in advance.

I assume it will work if you follow Mnem's instructions. It's just a WLAN connection, I don't see why it wouldn't work if you can connect to any other wireless network.

While I do not have confirmation on Win7, I have seen confirmation of the generic meiWDS running on Vista in classic mode. (Aero turned off) I would expect that it should run under Win7 as well in that configuration; worst case, you could try an instance of XP Virtual PC when you're using the CF-VDW07.

    Download Windows XP Mode

    Hi Guys,

Noobie to forum and first time poster, first off thanks heaps, a great resource for this sometimes recalcitrant beast.

Problem: Win7 in XP Mode and meiWDS requires Wireleless NIC for communication.

mnementh you mentioned other forums that have meiWDS running under Vista in classic mode. Can you please supply me with a link or 2 as I have sent google up in smoke trying to find one but have had no luck and am interested in trying this methodology with Win 7.

Further Information if you are interested:

After researching several forums and Microsofts tech guide there appears to be no way to emulate a wireless NIC in XP Mode (virtual machine). This normally wouldn't be problem except that meiWDS (k-04-224) appears to be hard coded to communicate only with a wireless NIC, so the bridged virtual NIC (using NAT) is not recognised and you get missing driver messages from the meiWDS service for the wireless NIC within XP mode.

General networking works fine using NAT to connect to the physical WiFi NIC and can get the CF-VDW07 to find and attempt to connect to meiWDS but cannot complete the final layer of the connection.

I will at some stage see if I can provide a registry hack to address this and bridge to the emulated NIC from a "Virtual" wireless NIC but am pressed for time at the moment.

I will do some more research and see if I can come up with a VMWare solution but am not holding my breath as initial research is not looking good.

Any assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I had no success trying to get the MeiWDS software to connect with Vista. Please let us know if you find a way to get this working.

I looked inside the monitor once and IIRC there is a NIC in there, assuming you mean a WLAN card.

meiWDS will work in Infrastructure Mode; you may want to look into that as a possible workaround. I'm afraid I have no first-hand knowledge of the entire configuration, but I have seen meiWDS working on a Win2003 Server in that manner.

I too have recently done the same Google searches in vain; I have no idea what happened to all the forums I remember.
