Is anyone able to play DVDs using Windows Media Player or do you get error messages?

Problems with DVD's are most of the time a codec problem.
Download the free Klite codec pack and it probably work

You need a DVD decoder software which I don't think you can get free. If you install any DVD playing software (winDVD, powerDVD, etc) you can then use Windows Media Player to play DVD's.

Download and install VLC media player.
It decodes and plays them all......and it's free
