Hi... I have been lurking for a while, and have learned a bit, but I am stumped...

    I have a CF-29ETPCKKM
    Pentium M 1.3G LV (Centrino), 13.3Transmissive Touch XGA, 512MB,60GB,WLAN 802.11b+g, WinXP,GPS,CDMA(Sprint) No voice, Bluetooth

I cannot get it to wake up properly after going to sleep mode or hibernation or whatever the blinking green light is...

    I have tried:
*swapping hard drives with another cf-29 - same issue
*putting my hard drive in the other cf-29 - wakes up no problem
    *removing my memory (the extra)
    *disabling CDMA and GPS

It won't even wake up fully if i close the lid and then open it... The MP lights both come on, and the lightning bolt light comes on steady again, but the screen does not display, and the hard drive light doesn't come on again either...

I know i could just turn off the sleep mode thing, but I would like to use it at school and such, and extend the battery life...

Does anyone have any ideas? Is my motherboard on its way out? Thanks for your help!!

Welcome. Did you set your bios to default? If you've been lurking long enough you probably saw that idea several times.
Others are more adept at using and setting up the drivers in XP.

Have you tried turning the GPS off? or changing settings to AUTO etc?
The GPS is signaling continually on the PS/2 Mouse circuit. Just an idea. I have an identical unit and I'll try it after a bit.

Good post. It is really helpful to list the details at least once.

    Good luck.
Edit: Sorry. I didn't read re:GPS The lid switch is controlled by a magnet in the lid behind the CF-29 near the F8 key. I wonder if that board is at fault. The board is under the keyboard.

Thank you for your fast response. :) (and I like your pony/horse, at least what i can see of it ;))

So I reset bios, and it seemed like it was doing the same thing (except with a jumpy cursor, but I can find that thread.......)

But then i got bored and noticed my screen was dirty so i started cleaning it... :p

And while i was cleaning the screen, it woke up the rest of the way... I am apparently too impatient... Although I timed how long it took to wake up, and it took about 54 seconds, which seems too long...

Is that normal? My husband also has a cf-29E (but without the GPS and CDMA) and his does not take that long... Maybe its because of all the extra goodies?

It does also seem a little slow on startup...

It is liveable the way it is... at least it will wake up... But if you do have any more ideas, that would be great :)

O.K. perfect. The horse is Bluerock Tari. Rocky for short.
I wondered about the jumpy cursor. Piece of cake. I'll find the jumpy cursor link in a bit. The horses are hungry.
You're almost fixed. That jumpy cursor is your computer thinking the GPS is the mouse.

I'll be back in a bit.

Jumpy mouse is gone... (I forgot to swap hard drives.. my regular hard drive has a fresh install of windows from the recovery discs... not sure if that makes a difference)

Thanks for all your help :)

So everything works right? Still experiencing slow boot?
If the jumpy mousy comes back look up GPS Registry patch for your model. I found mine in the panasonic.ja site. Stay away from the non-panny all drivers for every issue sites is what I am told.
They even have registry patch for CF-30. You'd think panny would learn.
