I noticed alot are from CHina/hong kong and was wondering if they are hit and miss?
I see a couple us sellers offering them for about 60 but they look like the chinese ones.

I bought one china/HK one for my 28 and it did not last a year -
Buy an original panasonic battery
Used and tested, or new old stock if you can find one
Alex -
i ordered one of the ultra high capacity ones - New . so hopefully I get some good battery time out of it
-
Here's the rundown/summary I've gathered from some earlier threads, including this one.
Energy+ / Fedco Electronics: Bad experiences reported
BatteryRefill.com - Started out with very positive reviews and feedback, but that has since turned sour. They have also been reported to operate under several different names.
Battery Universe (Idaho) - Forum users have posted positive experiences. These are reported to use Sanyo cells.
Success has also been reported when buying genuine Panasonic batteries from eBay.
Might not hurt to have a battery thread that has a good first-post summary and is kept up-to-date added to the list on The Ultimate Toughbook Resource Thread. -
The extended one I got off of ebay came today. took about 5 hours to do a full chagre so far after 3 hours of leaving it on its only like 62% and says I have a bout 5 hours left.
I cant wait to get my sd card adapter and maybe a backlit keyboard than it will be the bestest -

I bought 2 CF-51's from BuyBest12 (or 13) for $20.00 each free shipping "will not boot" with cd + batteries. One battery was 3 hours and the other was over 4 hours.....and one of the 51's did boot and works fine, These batteries will also fit the CF-29 too
.

Batteries+ sells a high capacity replacement specifically said to work with Cf-29, CF-51 and Cf-52.
Panasonic Toughbook High Capacity Battery Replacement COM11883 - Batteries Plus
Anybody tried one? -
Thanks! I particularly like the 50% less price!
-
I would not trust a non panasonic battery
Boo Boo 's link is a great deal for the proper battery
Alex -
Just ordered one.
Any similar great source for the internal one for the media bay - or arguments against it. -
@ Kardan
Keep a eye out on ebay
Make sure that it is brand new , as these deteriorate quickly with use
They add up to 2hrs extra run time from a good standard battery time of approximately 4 to 5 hrs
They are commonly available for $150 , which to me is too high
If you find a new one @ $80 or less jump on it -
How about a used "tested" one for $60?
Panasonic Toughbook CF-28 CF-29 CF29 2ND Battery Pack - eBay (item 270648594458 end time Nov-11-10 10:19:31 PST) -
and as far as the yellow tabbed battery. make sure you set the low battery alarm for 8% as it seems to hover on 10% for a good extra 30 min or so
i set mine for 8 and 3 percent -
It's a gamble buying used
The seller states in his listing
I sold 4 media bay batterys earlier this year for around $80 , and they were brand new

Any idea when you might have more? If not, can I put my name in for a email "heads-up" when they do surface?
Also, does anybody make a "recharging station" you can use to recharge a back-up battery outside the ToughBook? -
Sorry but I will not be purchasing any more
I have moved on from the cf-29 series an I am only interested in cf-30 accessory's now
An idea for you if you are close to 12v power is purchasing a Lind dc/dc adapter
They hook up to a cigarete lighter plug and run the Toughbook and charge your battery
Alex -
Thanks to all ofyou for the advice.
Good idea on the Lind. Maybe I can put my son on an excercise bike hooked up to a generator/inverter! I remember having one of those around our army signal site in the 60's. Better than KP for punishment. -

Yes I still have it, it is a very good battery. Never really used it much since I got it because I have moved up to the CF-30 last month. I did a battery refresh on it last week in my MK3 29. With both batteries in I was getting around 6 3/4 hours
Since you have under 15 posts you can't send me a PM but as Alex said you can receive them. I have PM you with the info.

Alex,
Can I send someone a PM who has under 15 post but he just can't answer back -
Yes if they can't receive PM's you will never know as it will be sent
5 is the current limit I believe , so he will receive your PM in this case -
Thanks toughasnails. Both PM and the email you sent were received. PayPal with shipping address just sent.
Thanks

This took less than 2 days for the seller to sell all 12 batterys
This was a very good deal , but in my opinion all Ebay deals should be posted on Robs site , where our core group is benefiting only
For regular members on Robs site this could be placed here

I looked up past sales for this guy and earlier sales went for 9-14 bucks for these cf-29 batteries. they were "backup" batteries and some advertised as new but no original boxes. he took my offer of 25 per battery.......Driller
-
Found this seller on the bay - boutique4pro | eBay
I have not bought from there so YMMV.
