    Folks

With your help i found the panasonic website and downloaded and installed the
Version: v200L13 bios for my CF-28PBJAA machine. Reading thru these posts i hear mension of other versions of possibly newer firmware people have upgraded to to increase ram capability. I was wondering if this version i have is the latest available.

On a matter unrelated to this topic:

i purchased on ebay a cdrom drive for my cf-28 carelessly i did not research enough to understand that the drive did not have a caddy :( well I am on the hunt for a caddy with the ribbon cable connector ect. I checked ebay and they are outrageously priced if you can find any. Do any of you fine folks have one up for grabs or know of a place that may have one "resonably" priced

    thanks again
    john

Panasonic says on the one hand that the latest version is 13... But I have been told by others that there is a 14 out there. I have the front battery and it needs 14 to be recognized correctly by the system. If I have both in and charged... It gets power from the media bay bat first. Then goes to the main. Well... When the media bat gets to 3% the laptop shuts down... Even though the main is fully charged! If you buy the battery it tells you to contact Panasonic for an upgraded BIOS. When you call Panasonic... It's like you are speaking in tongues! Then they say you should send it in to Panasonic to get it "Updated".... Yeah... Spend $500 to get a $100 battery working! It really pisses me off that Panasonic doesn't know what's going on here. Then... They sent me (finally) version 14... But it has no data file in the ZIP folder so it won't work.

As far as the CD (And you should have started a new thread) Ebay is your best bet. You can find one for under $100 if you shop and watch carefully. I just bought 7 of them and didn't pay over $100 for any of them.
