trycom 4 set baud 4800, seems like I heard that some where. there is a listing test siteforum.notebookreview.com-panasonic google search that AZrial set up that will let you google search topics that you just replace test site with topic on notebook review of your choosing. Pull up Az's posting and it should be a link that will help on many questions that you may have....hope this helps...Driller

don't worry, some of the sages will tune in and give you some help shortly, but Azrial's link for the google search has been invaluable for us all. The moderators will point you to the frequently asked questions as well and previous topics of discussions. A LOT of reading but good in that you are about to venture down a road of toughbook addiction. You'll understand soon enough, really a good group here with tons of tips, but reading is required and you'll soon get to know a lot about these laptops and fall right in with the rest of us. welcome to the family....Driller

What you probably have is a resource conflict.
Go into setup at boot and check the BIOS settings for your com ports and your GPS port.
I have found the easiest way is to set them all to AUTO, save and boot computer.
Go into Device Manager and uninstall all the com ports, reboot and let windows install them automatically.

    Always works for me

    What he said!

Or you may change the port setting to com port 4,5, 7 or any port not in use.
