The piece of plastic that covers the power socket on my CF-29 is starting to rip and I'd like to replace it. Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

I tried doing a search, but I'm not totally sure what this part is called, so I didn't find much.

Edit: I think I may have found a part number: DFHR6066YA. If anyone has a good source for these or an extra they would like to sell, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Eric

Message sent! Thanks for the help. This seems like one of those parts that probably wears out pretty often, particularly on systems that stay plugged in a lot.

It wears out so often that I gave up
The standard 90 degree ac plug when swiveled takes them out
I don't even bother replacing them now

Perhaps for some people it might make more sense to not keep the cap attached to the laptop. For example, maybe just keep it affixed to the end of your power cord somehow and put it in place when you unplug it?

Or maybe this part could be reinforced somehow? Perhaps I'll do some playing around with my old one after I get the one Rick has graciously sent me. If the area that actually flexes was made out of something tough but more pliable, like maybe a soft carbon fiber or Kevlar, I'd imagine it wouldn't tear nearly as easily. Even leather or ballistic nylon would probably be better than the somewhat flexible plastic or rubber that they use.

They are made out of nylon and will last a lifetime if care is taken... But then some things DO wear on Toiughbooks.... Hard to believe... But true...
