Look up the term kernel "panic". One source said that would cause the blinking lights. Sorry I have not been more help with the wireless issue. I need to see a clear picture of what's happening. When I get time I'll download a copy of BackTrack.

after some research last night im thinking this is a hardware issue the program im running is ether over stressing the cpu, wifi card, or the kernal of the linux distribution is causing a panic.
