I am going to install a external antenna on my cf 28 and found the thread on doing this but all of the pictures are not there only the RED X!! Right click/show picture only give me the RED X again. Have the pix been removed? OR am I missing something?
    10Q for insight

Sorry... I had to move them off a server and then they were deleted. Are you talking about the side mount antenna hack?

Hi, yes that is the one, I think I can figure it out OK, I just wanted to check position of the SMA you used. I already found out the internal antenna deal wont work!! So now Ill try this, it should be fine.

    Thank you, Fred

Actually I thinkI have a photo somewhere of the SMA bulkhead going out next to the "flag" style antenna next to it... For a CF-28 it is a pretty good combo unless you want to mod a RIM antenna for your main wifi antenna!

Lemme dig... Kinda swamped at the moment... Maybe tomorrow morning...

    Fred,
I followed Rick's mod for the RP-SMA antennae and it worked like a charm! Perhaps this thread will clear up some doubts?

Hi, thanks that shows me what I thought I knew ! (which is limited)
I am going to put it on the r/h side under the battery (my space is empty there) and clip a second flag type to the aux connector. and place it under the GPS bulge to give it a chance to work.
    Thank you!

    Fred

Thank you all for the information! :D :D It is done now and it works really well, no conflicts, the modem and the lan work fine as well. If anyone needs a 3com card for a CF28 I ended up with 2 extra new ones they can have for postage, let me know and I'll get them off to you.

I'm not sure why the other (linked) thread was closed... But I reopened it so it should be back on the list... Maybe (since the pics are still there) we should sticky it as it is very close to what I did... And it is fairly obvious what you need to do.
