    cf 50 battery wont charge

    having a problem with the battery on my cf 50. the comp recognizes its there but it wont charge. the yellow battery light comes on when its plugged in to charge but then it turns red and flashes after a few mins. the laptop will run with the adapter plugged in. but it doesnt indicate charging any suggestions?

    The red flashing battery indication means that the computer tried to charge the battery and it will no longer hold a charge. Its what happens when they just wear out. Unfortunately you're going to have to get a new battery or re-cell your old one. Theres some posts on here about how others have rebuilt their batteries if you do a search.

    Not $150 :eek: its to much! I think the battery of cf-50 is as the same as the battery of cf-28. There is thread here didcated to a comm...ly toughbook parts and accesooories.

    confirmed.. CF28, 48, and 50 are all compatible

    If thats the case you can buy a brand new rayovac replacement from batteries plus for like $120
    Ebay is cheaper but you take the risk if its going to really work
