    i am a new owner of a cf w8 ewezzam and tried to install mint 17 cinnamon on it everything works out of the box but the sound doesnt
    i tried many things

    i have installed win7 pro 64bit too the sound works fine on it, so it is no hardwareproblem

    does anyone succed in getting the sound worked under mint cinnamon quiana?

    I don't run Mint, but try to bring up alsamixer and see if all the levels are o.k. and not muted. You might have to hit F6 and select your sound card to see all channels.

    Are you running pulseaudio?

    this was the first i did alsamixer unmute
    i tried pulsaudio aswell no changes
    do you run linux on your book?
    and what distribution and is audio working?

    so today i tried a life cd and sound worked
    so installed mint 17 cinnamon and sound already worked
    the problem is solved but not solved too, cause i do not know what the root of this problem was

    Anyway, glad it works. I don't own a W8 but I have a bit of experience with sound problems on Linux. Right now I'm running Debian on most of my systems.
