I have a CF-19 that when you hit the flip or rotate button on the bottom/front of the unit the screen wont flip? any ideas. is it a driver maybe? none of the buttons there work but the brighten and darrken. the other tablet buttons do nothing. this unit has windows 7 on it and it runs great and all works fine. it wa sa vista unit but it was upgraded. the onscreen aline software isnt there, you know where you hit all the edges etc to line up the stylis. this is a touch unit with touch or pen also if that matters. but mainly id like to fnd out how to get the tablet buttons to work so when i close it i can flip the screne to hold it right in the car.

First question, what is your full model #? Who loaded 7 on the machine? There is a way to get most of that stuff working but there are steps which have to be followed to the letter(see extensive threads elsewhere here). If you got the machine on eBay the seller probably did not know/care enough to do a complete install of 7.

If you read the pertinent threads you should have noticed that ALL DRIVERS MUST BE LOADED IN THE EXACT ORDER SPECIFIED. I do not see in your post that you went back and did a complete new install. I have never put 7 on a CF-19, but I have messed a lot with CF-18s and know that if you install some drivers out of order you can not go back for another try, the option to install disappears from device manager. You have to nuke and pave. So if Windows 7 is installed on your machine and some of the drivers were not installed you will not be able to install them without starting at the beginning. I have no interest in 7 on anything at this point, but I do know that it has been done and the steps are posted on this forum. When you find the right thread you will have to read the entire thread, probably several times as these threads get generated by multiple people in a sort of stream of consciousness fashion. Sometimes you get spoon fed, sometimes not.

One of the stickied threads on this forum is titled " **READ BEFORE POSTING** **The Ultimate Toughbook Resource Thread**." In the first post is a list of links to some commonly referenced threads. One of those is a post on How to Install Windows 7 on a CF-18 mk1 Digitizer.

While you have a CF-19, others have reported that the instructions for the CF-18 are a good basis for CF-19 models. One key difference will be on newer models that have the "misc" device, as the older ones do not have that.

At any rate, try to exactly follow the installation instructions for the Tablet Buttons Driver. If those steps are not followed completely and precisely, it is possible that those buttons can end up in a partially functioning state (such as has been described).
