firstly, i have followed the guide on here and managed to get just about everything done. very helpful.

the only problem is the touchscreen. its not accurate and i couldnt get the calibration to work. finally got the misc. driver going and could install the final few things. then the calibration wouldnt allow me to do anything, so i got the correct calibration software, which runs, and i touch all 9 red crosses then get an error message. basically it wont finish the calibration.

and then when i turn the screen around the touchscreen goes back to front. so if i touch the top of the screen, the pointer is at the bottom, and touch left and the pointer is on the right.

last thing, what are the benefits with the GPS? not sure if its worth worrying about because i dont know if id need it.

    cheers

other thing i forgot to ask, the mobile sim card slot. Simple case of getting the right sim, dialing in and getting online or is it more complicated than that?

You need an activated SIM (obviously) AND you have to make sure that the actual mini-pci xpress card is present in the system (Just cuz it has a SIM slot does NOT mean it will take the card).

On the 19 there are two covers on the bottom of the unit, one big one (that is the RAM), and one small one - that is the one you need to check under for the card in the slot.

With GPS-capable mapping software (DeLorme, Garmin, iGuidance, etc.) it will help you get from "A" to "B" when you don't know the route. :)

i have the sim card because it used to have a sim card in that connected up. just didnt know how easy it is to get it going again after installing the new windows.

i suppose thats an obvious one for the GPS lol.

    no ideas on this touchscreen?

Is the SIM card you have for a data account? A voice account SIM by itself will not work as a WWAN connection.
AFAIK, that's the only use.
Before we can go further on this, you need to post the CF-19's Model Number; such as CF-19xxxxxxx.

For touchscreen driver installation. Use the xp touchscreen driver on win 7 OS but use the compatibility mode. My CF-198, Lol... works fine on this procedure.

Assuming you already extracted the touchscreen driver. Then go to utility 2 then to driver, then to touchscreen. Open the touchscreen driver and look for ftsetup. then right click on it and it will display a new window. Go to "troubleshoot compatibilty" then follow the instruction. After the installation go back again on touchscreen folder and look for caldwin to calibrate the touchscreen.

if i run CalTUwin in XP SP2 compatability and try to calibrate i get 'data read error' and cant continue.

also i cannot see an FTsetup in this folder. Theres a TPsetup but that doesnt appear to do much

quick question. i followed the thread on here about installing win7 to a cf-18. ive got a cf-19. can i follow the PDF guide by panasonic and install all 42 driver in the order they say for a cf-19 mk3 even though mine is a mk1 (i think). or will that cause other issues with hardware (i assume hardware changed between mk1 and mk3)??? i almost have everything working from following the guide.

GPS also tells you where the cop car is now and when you run the DVD(or tape since we had eye witness II) back to prove your location and direction. Also (L)(S) and (B) if you ran into someone. In D.C. you will run into someone often or they would run into you.

Well that's if the toughbook has the right software.
