    Hi,

I just picked up a cf-27 at my local thrift store. Figured that even if it didn't work, it would be worth checking out. Well, it turns on, but all it really does is say "Invalid system disk, replace the disk, and press any key".

Now, I am pretty much completely computer illiterate, especially on one so old it uses floppy discs. So, can someone tell me how I might go about fixing it?

Sounds like it needs to have an operating system installed. I recommend windows 2000 or Linux. I use Linux Mint Debian edition on mine.

Invalid system disk could simply mean there is a floppy in the drive that it is trying to boot from. Take the disk out of the drive, and see if it will boot from the hard drive.

If there is no floppy in the drive, the operating system on the hard drive is corrupted.
