Hi Guys. I've installed win xp on my cf-27rj but the hotkeys don't work.
Can anyone advise me on how to get them working?
I installed xp on the HDD in my cf-71 then put it in the cf-27, windows then found all its drivers but didnt see the hotkeys as a device. I've tried several hotkey drivers for win 2000 etc but no luck. do i need a specific keyboard driver?

Any help would be gratefully recieved.
    Bob.

Did you unpack the drivers and then updated the unknown device in device manager ? (go to device manager, right click on unknown device and click update driver)

Hi again Derick. thanks for your reply.
Yeah, the unknown device was the rim modem. no more unknown devices showing in device manager. i've searched all over various fora but not found a definative answer. maybe running xp on this machine is a bit much to ask but everything else works ok.

The CF-27 does not rely on a hotkey driver. Hotkeys are controlled at the BIOS level so I would think you have a bad keyboard or bad keyboard connection.

I have a CF 27 Mk2 with W2K on it, and there it is a software prog, not a bios setting.
Perhaps the Mk1 is to old for this

All toughbooks up to the CF-28 will have hotkey functionality even if you don't load the driver. The driver does nothing in XP/2K except to clear the unknown device in device manager. Just try it while in the BIOS you will see that all hotkeys will function so no driver is needed as BIOS controls it.

Thanks for the info. That's what i thought originally, (my cf-71 is like that.) but my cf-27 hotkeys don't work in bios. i even updated my bios in case it had got corrupted but still no joy. perhaps a duff keyboard after all.
