cf-28 2 questions

hello to all from italy....sorry two questions..

I have 2models cf-28

1 question.... in the numebr une under bottom the battery it doesn't exist anything and does it have in this model a slot free minipci..... (not antenna model)
in the other..number two..is have rim antenna.. not free minipci slot..()change with combo.. bottom the battery has a yellow card big.. not gps... what it is?? if i change with combo i remove this place yellow ?


2 question important...if I change two internal cards minipci my cf-28 with an alone combo 3cm lan and modem.... all the cables of the two cards that I remove again connect him all with the alone card combo 3 com.... or must certain cables be left detached?? do you have photo?? while I am getting off do I have to mark the cables where they were attached and meeting same disposition in the card combo?? of this operation I are worried..... the tongs open to the outside to free the cards and to remove her??please help me.

Frank - the mini-pci cards are under the hard drive caddy, not the battery. Under the battery is the memory module and the RIMM card, if installed.

The wires from the External MODEM jack and the Ethernet jack have different ends on them with corresponding sockets on the Combo card we recommend. Both cables will reach if you put the card in the slot closest to the external jacks, just remember to remove the metallic-looking pad there before installing the new card, as it will interfere because of the greater height of the new card. The tabs that hold the card down are the same as a laptop memory card slot - gently press them away from the notch in the card with a screwdriver, and usually, the card will pop up slightly when they're free. Then you can remove the card, and swap out the wires.

r emove..the metallic-looking...what is?? is in the new card or in the panasonic case??

the 2 mini-pci is under caddy ..nothing to be removed I see...for height of the new card...(now in in the way to me from canada)

what which total number of cables..alimentation and others ... will find?? all from the 2 old card i put in new card combo?? to mark where I detach them and then I attack again combo card them same place??

have you scheme or photo or word indication for this cange very difficult for me??

There is usually a metalic-mesh pad under the hard drive, help on with adhesive. It is on top of the old lan card, between it and the hard drive. This is not needed.

Two existing cables in the CF-28 - one 2-pin(?) for the modem and one 8-pin(?) for the lan. These will go to matching slots on the new combo card.

I think once you get a card and see the connections, it will make more sense.

last doubt.... the yellow CARD RIMM.. under battery is used for modem wireless with antenna what it gets up.. it is not connected to the modem minipici....... it is removed to insert original gps... correct?

Frank - you are correct.

Save the yellow board, though - you will install the aftermarket GPS ONTO that yellow board.

This requires soldering and is one of our more advanced modifications.
