    What is the best memory 512 for a CF-28 800MHz (512) and cf-m34 ( 192 RAM)

(I think it is also known as a MK2, or are
there MK1, 2, and 3 models for each CPU speed?)

I have already tried one type with my 800GHz CF-28
    and it failed.
NOW IS 256 + 256...question: FROM 512 TOTAL to 768.. performance is minimal or best??

bios v200L12l ..IS THE LAST ..??upgrade or ok ??

    have you for sale?? (PM..)

    regards

There are a couple of threads around that explain what the best type of RAM is... Check the CF-28FAQ...

There is very little difference in perfomance between the 768 and the 512.

For the MK2 the latest version is V.00013... Again... You can check the same place for a download link to get the update.

I bought one of the recommended ram chips and my CF-28 will not even boot with it installed - the word is that the BIOS is extremely temperamental when faced with a 512M chip/card and one may have to try several to discover one that works in a specific machine.

    YMMV ... ;-)

There are many prople who have gotten the 512 RAM to work in the CF-28. SOME of the 1Ghz units are really the only ones that are suppose to work with a total of 768MB according to Panasonic. It really is a crap shoot to see if it will work on yours. I know that it WILL NOT work on a Mk1... It might work on SOME Mk2s and on most Mk3s...

No harm in trying... You can always throw the extra RAM on ebay or use it in a different laptop!

Does anybody have a 512 module part number that works? in the CF-28?

I have a P3 1000Mhz machine with 256 on board. Tried a PNY 512mb pc133 sodimm but it didn't work. I have a kingston chip on order part number

    KVR133X64SC3/512
    PC133 SDRAM 144-Pin CL3
    SODIMM Memory Module

    Hopefully it will work

It looks like it should... best I can do. it has the 4 chips on each side which is what you look for. But I've had 512 sticks with 4 chips on each side that fail boot! You won't know until you try...

I wonder how much that costs in the worthless green/black paper notes we use over here?

Take another look at the memory module pictured. Doesn't that say "200" at the top, as in 200 pins?
