    I was actually thinking about putting it in that hole right next to the USB and docking port that has some foam tape over it, it looks almost like a PS/2 hole or something.

    A 50% increase in power is negligable. It will draw more current from the circuitry but it will Have minimal range increase. To double your range you would need to quadruple your power.
