Hey,
I've tried to search the fourms for this question but didn't come up with any luck. I had to install a new hard drive and a new copy of windows. After the install, I can't select the system standby option. Something about the manufacture's settings? I went into BIOS and selected to go into standby when i hit the power switch, but windows won't let me do it, it just shuts down.
any idea what I need to to do get my system to not fight me so much (besides dumping windows and switching to another OS)
Thanks!
Jeff

I have mine (CF-28ST) set to enter standby when I close the lid, I believe thats the default setting for the Portable/Laptop power scheme. When I close the lid, things power-down and the power light blinks. This is not working for you?
Make sure you have the correct power scheme selected:
Start...Control Panel...Performance and Maintenance...Power Options -
You need the video driver installed for standby to work.

ah excellent, thanks for the help Modly...I'll have to grab that this weekend
Thanks!

No problem. Once all the drivers are installed, everything should work
Took me a while when I first got mine to figure out how to get standby working. -
turns out I had downloaded it, but never installed it properly...no wonder why I was confused at first when you said the video driver!
