    Hey,
I've tried to search the fourms for this question but didn't come up with any luck. I had to install a new hard drive and a new copy of windows. After the install, I can't select the system standby option. Something about the manufacture's settings? I went into BIOS and selected to go into standby when i hit the power switch, but windows won't let me do it, it just shuts down.

any idea what I need to to do get my system to not fight me so much (besides dumping windows and switching to another OS :p )

    Thanks!
    Jeff

I have mine (CF-28ST) set to enter standby when I close the lid, I believe thats the default setting for the Portable/Laptop power scheme. When I close the lid, things power-down and the power light blinks. This is not working for you?

Make sure you have the correct power scheme selected:
    Start...Control Panel...Performance and Maintenance...Power Options

You need the video driver installed for standby to work.

No problem. Once all the drivers are installed, everything should work :D

Took me a while when I first got mine to figure out how to get standby working.

turns out I had downloaded it, but never installed it properly...no wonder why I was confused at first when you said the video driver!
